Hi! I’m Josh.
Now
- I’m currently working as a Policy Officer at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, working on the intersections of affordable housing, drug use, and public safety.
Past
- In 2023, I completed my Masters of Arts in Political Science from McGill University, supervised by Daniel Béland. At McGill, I worked for/at: - McGill Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) on syllabus design and sustainability pedagogy
- Dr. Amy Janzwood, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science. The research work focuses on energy politics, including pipeline infrastructure, social resistance, and emissions reductions policy.
- Urban Politics and Governance (UPGo) research group
- McGill School of Architecture, on a research project on affordable housing and Montreal’s 20-20-20 rule.
- Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), on a project on suburban climate action.

- In 2023, I was Policy and Public Affairs Fellow at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
- In 2022, I worked at the Ville de Montréal as an Intern, Ecological Transition. I worked for the Arrondissement du Sud-Ouest on projects including the creation of an ecological corridor, a participatory budget, and a local sustainable mobility plan.
- Previously, I worked as the Pembina Institute’s Digital Communications Specialist, where I leveraged the collective power of the organization's digital channels to ensure its thorough, respected research reached the audience it needed to transform Canada’s energy industries. I brought a robust understanding of Canada’s energy policy contexts in addition to a passion for policy communications.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Geography (double major) from the University of British Columbia.
